Rams Review spoke with Derby County Brazil about supporting The Rams from South America.
Hi! my name is Matheus! I live in Mairiporã, São Paulo. São Paulo is the most populated city in Brazil, it has more than 12 million inhabitants! São Paulo also hosted games in 2014, when the World Cup came to Brazil!
I started supporting The Rams in 2003 but I have yet to realize my dream of coming to Pride Park to watch Derby County in person. I hope to one day soon!
Here in Brazil the football fanaticism is very high! Before living in São Paulo, I lived in lived in Minas Gerais, a state that practically has two teams, Clube Atlético Mineiro and América Mineiro, they have a massive rivalry!
My all-time favorite Brazilian Derby County Player is Junior! He played 30 times for Derby from 2003 to 2005 and scored four goals! Junior is the reason I started following The Rams!
Other than The Rams, I also really like Torquay but I don't have the same passion for them as I do for Derby. Here in Brazil, I support Cruzeiro!
I like Phillip Cocu. He has different approach and thoughtfulness towards the games. I believe he can take us to the Premier League. This past season we made crucial defense mistakes over the course of the season. It was these mistakes that kept us out of the play-offs.
Looking ahead for next season, the first thing is to fix our defense! Then we need to bring in a reliable goalkeeper who can be the leader in the box and for the defense.
