I’m Shane Dolan. I’m a American who loves Derby County and I bleed black & white. Though not born into the Rams family I’ve been adopted by it’s amazing fan base that is more a family then fans. I’m a dad, husband & Rams fan! You can follow me on Twitter here!
The Rams are not just a team, they are an attitude. Tough- Blue- Collar. Hard-working. They bring this to the pitch every match. The Rams aren’t a finesse team. They get in there and do the dirty work. The Rams attitude transcends country lines. Even here in America we fans can be heard screaming & chanting loud with Derby pride. We as fans can relate to the team. There aren’t any diva players who put themselves before the team. It is on cohesive unit.
A symbol of Derby Nation is the Ram. The Ram is the heartbeat of the Derby fan. The passion runs through our veins & in our cries! From everyday I’ve spoken to tell me, “You have to be at Pride Park to appreciate the true beauty of what happens when everyone gets together.” It envelopes the stadium and chills run down your spine when you catch a glimpse of this magical sight.
Derby football encompasses an entire city and spreads across the world. The club means more than just football to a lot of us. It is an escape, an attitude, a heartbeat.
Rams football is a way of life! This is their stories.
Rams fan Andy Rayner:
I’m from Cambridge and as a lad of about 14, me and a few mates would go out for the day on a Saturday various parts of the country and first of all to train spot and then watch a Saturday 3 o’clock game. Basically half of the group supported Aston Villa and the other half supported Derby. I fell in love with The Baseball Ground. Now as a 51 year old, I remain a season ticket holder (along with my nephew). We've been going together more more than a decade now. We sit in the South West Upper, where we have met so many friends. It's unreal.
My nephew originally was a Manchester United supporter as the other side of his family support them but we soon got him to be a Derby fan and he comes with us home and away. I am quite well known to Derby fans as when we had Just Eat as our sponsors I put Kebabs on the back and actually got 30,000 likes on Instagram, and on one occasion some lady was actually confused and said "is your surname really Kebabs?". Our love for Rams grows with every season and we really hope we get back to normal in August.
